Telescopic bollard or fold-down parking post: which should you choose?
The difference is more than how the post moves. Start with the problem you need to solve and how your vehicle uses the space.

A telescopic bollard and a fold-down post can both keep a vehicle from entering a space while they are upright. They solve different problems in day-to-day use. The better choice depends on whether you want to protect a parked vehicle, reserve a parking bay or keep an entrance clear when you drive over it.
How the two posts move
A telescopic bollard is raised from a sleeve set into the ground. You unlock and lower it into that sleeve to use the drive. It needs suitable below-ground depth, foundations and drainage. Check the actual lid and lowered height of the selected model rather than assuming every post finishes completely flush.
A fold-down parking post is unlocked and folded onto the surface. It normally needs a sound fixing base beneath the visible paving or tarmac. The folded post remains above ground, so its height must be compared with the ground clearance of any vehicle passing over it.

Neither product name alone proves impact resistance. If your insurer asks for a specific security standard, obtain the exact product evidence before ordering. A fold-down bay post should not be sold as a tested vehicle security barrier without documentation.
What to send when asking for a quote
Share a photo looking towards the road, another from the side, the entrance or bay width and the surface type. Explain who uses the space, whether there is a gate, and whether you own the surface. That makes it easier to compare the work involved in each option.
