What affects the cost of bollard installation?
A product price is only one part of an installation. Here are the site details that usually change the quote.

The price of a bollard on its own is not the price of fitting it to a driveway. Two properties can use the same post and need very different groundworks. The most useful quote sets out the proposed product and the work needed to make it practical at your site.
Start with the type and number of posts
A fold-down parking post and an in-ground telescopic bollard have different fixing requirements. A powered automatic bollard also needs power and controls. The number of posts depends on the usable vehicle opening, not just the width measured between two walls. An angled entrance may still offer a path around a single raised post.
What lies below the surface matters
For an in-ground post, the quote should account for excavation, the specified foundation and sleeve, drainage and the possibility of buried services. Paving, tarmac, resin and concrete need different cutting and reinstatement methods. The visible finish cannot show whether there is enough sound structure beneath it.
For a surface-fixed post, a suitable base and fixings still matter. A quote based only on attaching a post to loose paving blocks may miss the work required for a sound installation.
Powered systems have additional items
An automatic installation can involve electrical provision, cable routes, access controls, safety devices and a plan for what happens during a power interruption. These details depend on the chosen system and how vehicles approach it. Ask how the selected model is operated and maintained.
Compare quotes on the same scope
Ask which product and lock are included; how the foundation and drainage will be constructed; what surface finish will be reinstated; and whether electrical work, removal of spoil or access controls are included. If you need a tested security rating, ask for the evidence for the exact product and its required installation. Do not assume the word “heavy-duty” is a certification.
